Question I: Lymphatic
i. Identify and describe 2 specific structural adaptations of lymphatic capillaries that increase their permeability.
ii. Describe other (non-lymphatic) body structures and/or processes that assist with lymph return to the cardiovascular system.
iii. Compare the structure and function of lymph nodes with the structure and function of MALT.
Question II: Respiratory / Lymphatic
Describe multiple mechanisms that prevent foreign materials and organisms from invading our respiratory tract. You should consider both structural adaptations of the respiratory system AND relevant lymphatic structures.
Question III: Respiratory
i. Describe the structure of an alveolus, its physical relationship with capillaries and the significance.
ii. Describe the structure and function of the respiratory membrane.
iii. Distinguish between Type I and Type II alveoli, describing the structure and function of each.
