Problem
I. (i) Compare and contrast enveloped and non-enveloped viruses (mammalian) in how they infect a cell (attachment, entry, and exit). (ii) Sketch and label a diagram of an enveloped virus, include the nucleic acid, capsid, envelope, and binding proteins. (iii) Give an example of an enveloped virus and non-enveloped virus that I discussed in lecture (full name of the specific virus and the name of the disease that it causes).
II. Some bacteriophage replicate within a host cell with a lysogenic cycle. Draw, label and describe the steps of the lytic and lysogenic cycles.
