Assignment: Audit Software Project and Analysis
Instructions
Auditors use electronic software programs such as ACL and Teammate software to help them conduct testing of the client's data and documentation. In addition, auditors use electronic software such as Idea to help them perform sampling of the client's data.
Research two Audit Software programs:
Select (I) either ACL or IDEA and (II) Teammate.
In a report, 2 to 3 pages, describe the purpose of the audit software and describe its capabilities. Provide at least two examples of how companies have used the software as it relates to audit capacity. Discuss the benefits of using the software. Discuss disadvantages from using the software if any. Finally, discuss in detail how you would use the software in the context of the SEC Company that you selected.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
o The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
o The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
o Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
