Personal Case Part 1: Background
By writing your personal case, you will start with an opportunity to apply the material in this course directly to a real-life and current situation. Examples include managing a new team, making process changes, product development innovations, forming a new direction for the team, taking on new responsibilities, etc. If you are currently a manager or in a leadership position with the process, this should be self-evident. At the least, you should be a team member or participant who is actively engaged in the process or situation that you describe.
Part 1: In 2-3 pages, double-spaced, 1" margins and 12pt font, start by describing the situation that you will use in the personal case assignment. Include:
A. Background and definition of the issue being addressed. One or two paragraphs should be sufficient if they cover the background of the dilemma and the current status
B. Organizational Chart: This doesn't have to be professionally drawn, but create a visual of the various members of the team dealing with the dilemma and where they fit within the larger organization.
C. Your role: Describe the part that you play with this change process including any impacts the change does or may have on you.
D. Describe the proposed outcome.
