Questions: Describe the Panopticon as originally formulated by Bentham and later made famous by Foucault. Why is Foucault generally critical of this particular design for watching over inmate populations? To be sure, when Foucault was originally analyzing the Panopticon, he was providing a critical perspective of the location of power in society and the ability to control the masses through unseen surveillance, or at least the perception that you're being watched. How can you apply this same logic to your own life?
