Part 1: Introduction
Background information about your research project
Describe the management dilemma
Ethical concerns
Develop your hypothesis and research question
Part 2: Literature review
Background research on at least three scholarly sources
Part 3: Data
Secondary data
Measurement benchmark and scales
Plans for using observations, focus groups, interviews, or surveys See the Week 4 wording for what should still be in this section!
Plans for analyzing data
Plans for how to analyze results (see below and the bold remark because it applies here as well).
Part 4: Results You are NOT actually going to take data an analyze it but I need to know what you WOULD DO if we did.
Plans on how you would summarize and display the results of your research (like charts, graphs, tables, etc.)
References
Include a separate references page and cite all references within the text of the paper. You are going to need at least 3 scholarly sources in Week 6 so add as needed.
Assignment
Research Project-Week Five
Before you complete your Week Five assignment, please read your instructor's comments about your Week Four assignment, as well as this week's lecture. Be sure to include any suggested changes in your project going forward.
In a seven- to eight-page paper (not including the title and reference pages), provide
A revised version of your introduction, research question, background research, hypothesis, research design, sampling plan, secondary data plan (if applicable), measurement scales (if applicable), observation plans (if applicable), survey plans (if applicable). These revisions must be based on your instructor's feedback if your instructor provided comments about these sections in Week Four.
Your plans for analyzing your data (such as content analysis, statistical analysis, etc.) as well as your plans for how you will present your results.
A reference list documented in APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
Your paper must be formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
While it is not a required portion of your Week Five assignment submission, you should be collecting data this week if you have not started already. If you wait until Week Six to collect data, you will not have time to analyze it and write it up.
Here is how the Week 5 paper should be outlined and formatted.
The bullet points are just there to show you the APA section heading lay out; there is no need to add bullets or use numbers. Please do give heed to the items noted below for maximum points.
Of special note (and I have hinted at this all class) is we are NOT doing any actual data collection and analysis for the final paper. The focus on the paper is what we COULD do and so the context for all such section work is about that. Anyone who does actual primary data collection will receive a 0 on the assignment and fail the class. If you do actual secondary data collection and analysis then you have not been reading these announcements/email because you are telling me what you WOULD do. The new parts for the assignment are shown in the highlighted colored area.
PROFESSOR-OVERVIEW OF EACH WEEK'S REQUIREMENT
For your Research Project, you will be combining all parts that you have worked on from Weeks One through Five. Your paper should be formatted as follows:
•Part 1: Introduction
?Background information about your research project
?Describe the management dilemma
?Ethical Concerns
?Research Question and Hypothesis
•Part 2: Literature review
?Background research on at least three scholarly sources
•Part 3: Data
?Secondary data
?Measurement benchmark and scales
?Plans for using observations, focus groups, interviews, or surveys (Note: This is the NEW addition to the paper from Week 4. All you need to write in this section is: This study will not be using any observations, focus groups, interviews, or surveys.
?If you use these words then you will get the score that indicates you met the requirements. If you then add in WHY you are not going to do this (hint--we are only using secondary data) with a good reason then your score in this area will be higher.)
Please note that these labels are what I am looking for and in this order. The bulleted items should be APA level 2 where they are placed. Part 1,2,3 are APA level 1.
Part 4: Results
You are NOT actually going to take data an analyze it but I need to know what you WOULD DO if we did.
Plans on how you would summarize and display the results of your research (like charts, graphs, tables, etc.)
