This week your main posting should investigate the ethical aspects of the Blue Nile Inc., case. In your posting you should demonstrate applied working knowledge of business ethics. DO NOT WRITE ABOUT LAW; FOCUS ON ETHICAL PRINCIPLES AND ETHICAL CONDUCT. Therefore, please follow the structure listed below:
1) INTRODUCTION: In the first paragraph, in two or three sentences, please define business ethics, and then state its relevance and applicability to the Blue Nile, Inc.,-from a strategic perspective.
2) INDUSTRY: In the second paragraph, investigate and describe the main ethical violations existing in the diamond industry, both at national and international levels. In your analysis you should engage ethical theories such as: deontology, utilitarianism, rights and virtues, beneficence, least harm, respect for autonomy, justice, and so on. Explain what ethical standards the diamond industry should abide by.
3) MANAGEMENT: In the third paragraph investigate and describe ethical managerial problems as applicable to the Blue Nile, Inc. These should include also problems you identified during the audit. Explain and describe the mechanisms you will use to enforce business standard as well as an internal ethical conduct within the company. You should engage and defend the principles of ethical conduct, understand the taxonomy of ethical types; and suggest new models of personal and organizational development anchored in beneficence, least harm, respect for autonomy, justice, and so on.
4) CONCLUSION: In the fourth paragraph, you should simply conclude why and how you will make managerial changes relevant to business ethics.
