Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to
Complete a SWOT Analysis;
Complete an industry and competitive analysis;
Determine a company’s core competencies;
Identify and evaluate business level strategies;
Identify and evaluate corporate level strategies;
Understand options available during an acquisition or a restructuring situation;
Understand opportunities available to operate in an international environment;
Define corporate governance and explain why it is used to monitor and control managers’ strategic decisions;
Define organizational structure and controls and discuss the difference between strategic and financial controls;
Describe the importance of strategic leaders in managing the firm’s resources, with emphasis on exploiting and maintaining core competencies, human capital, and social capital.
