Assignment task: Socio political issue: Gun Violence
1. Provide some background information about the issue you have chosen. Why is this a social problem? Explain, why this issue is important. Provide statistics, Images, and other data to demonstrate why this issue is significant.
2. Why is this issue important to you? (Why did you choose it?)
3. Identify and research an organization that has addressed the issue that is important to you? When was the organization founded? What is the organizations mission and goals? What have they achieved? Describe how the gain funding.
4. How is this organization or entity exercising power? Describe the demographic population they represent. Describe who they influence. Based on how they exercise power, describe how effective or ineffective they are achieving their goals?
5. What would you different to advocate, civically engage, or bring awareness to the issue you identified? How would you exercise power to impact change and resolve the issue?
6. What strategies could be employed to get more young people actively involved in addressing the issue you chose?
