Assignment: Using HTML5 for Text, Images, Media, Tags, 2-D, and 3-D Code
In this assignment, you will use HTML5 to build a website that presents the basic features of HTML5, complete with text, photos, video, and animations.
Scenario:
You have been hired as a web designer and corporate trainer to introduce HTML5 to the development team at Acme Services. The company desires that you create a website using HTML that introduces the basic features of HTML5. You will determine the design and HTML5 content, which you present within the website.
Tasks:
Part 1: Create the Website
For your next meeting with the company, you must showcase a website that includes the following:
• Home page, which introduces HTML5. Include the following on this page:
o Describe technology and business factors, such as support for mobile devices and location-aware applications, which led to the need for HTML5.
o Provide links to other sites, which provide excellent examples of specific, properly executed HTML5 concepts. For each link, give a brief explanation of why it is a good example.
• A new HTML5 tags page, which provides an overview and examples of the new HTML5 tags. Again, the design is your own, but it must be effective.
• A canvas programming basics page, which present samples (and output) of common canvas operations; ensure that you include at least three shapes.
• A 2-D programming page, which presents source code and application output for HTML5 2-D drawing programs.
• A 3-D programming page, which presents source code and application output for HTML5 3-D drawing programs.
Note the following points when creating the website:
• Use HTML5 to create the website.
• The website design you create should be original. You cannot use existing web page templates.
• The content and applications you present must be your own.
• You can include related links to noteworthy HTML5 content and applications you encounter.
• You will submit a link to your website for evaluation.
Part 2: Cover Letter
Complete the following tasks using Microsoft Word:
• Prepare a 1-page professional cover letter, which summarizes your website project and your design.
• Include a link to the web page you developed.
Make sure you write in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
