Describe significant mise-en-scène in fw murnaus nosferatu

Problem

I. Describe the significant mise-en-scène in F.W. Murnau's Nosferatu and relate your observations to the general characteristics of Expressionism. Then, explain why this film looks the way it does. This will require you not only to reflect upon Expressionism and the film's mise-en-scène but also the overall situation in Germany at the time. Include specific observations from the film to support your written statements.

II. On pages 166-67 of the World on Film textbook, Martha Nochimson introduces this module's feature film as The Bicycle Thief. You may have then noticed when you viewed the film via Kanopy that Criterion titles the film Bicycle Thieves. For decades after its original release, Ladri di biciclette was known in the United States as The Bicycle Thief.

Why do you think it is significant that the film is actually titled Bicycle Thieves (plural) rather than The Bicycle Thief? Why does the plural form matter?
