Field of cultural competence has currently emerged as part of the strategy to decrease disparities in access to and quality of health care. As this is the emerging field, efforts to explain and implement principles of cultural competence are still ongoing. Cultural competence in health care explains ability of systems to give care to patients with beliefs, diverse values and behaviors, including tailoring delivery to fulfill patients' cultural, social, and linguistic requirements.
