Problem:
Describe the process which was used to implement the change strategy. The process used to implement the change strategy is implementing a standardized bedside shift report protocol such as the SBAR handoff tool. I identified the need to change the shift handover process to improve patient safety and satisfaction and enhance communication among healthcare providers. I developed a new protocol for bedside shift handovers, which involved the patient in the process. This was done in consultation with nursing staff, leaders, and patient representatives.
