Assignment
Prior to passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), there were numerous attempts to pass healthcare reform in the US. In this assignment, the student will discuss what some of these attempts were, what were the success, failures, and lessons learned for the creation of the
ACA and resulting patient safeguards.
Instructions
Part I
Students will analyze each of the three different levels of the healthcare pyramid: i.e., primary, secondary, and tertiary care. In your analysis, contrast with the previous level of care. The analysis should include an example of each type of care (one or two paragraphs for each level).
Part II
For each level of care, describe one or two types of professionals that provide care at each level (one paragraph for each professional).
For each professional describe:
A. The type of education required
B. The types of services provided
C. Any type of certification/licensure needed to practice
Part III
For each level of care, cite two examples of local institutions that fit the description.
For example, Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center would be an example of a tertiary care provider.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
o The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
o The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
o Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
