With modern accounting and information systems, there is no end to the data that can be produced and analyzed. This exercise is designed for you to think about your own benchmarking experience and learn from others in the class about the benchmarking metrics with which you deal and whether they assist in providing a measure of accountability and actionable outcomes.
i. Describe one benchmarking metric you have to track that you do not feel is necessary. Why do you feel this way? How would you change this metric so that you're tracking the right thing?
ii. Describe one benchmarking metric that you should be tracking but are not. How would this help achieve better outcomes?
