Problem
Alana is a 26-year-old woman with autism spectrum disorders and borderline intellectual disability. Her speech production and communication are adequate, however her understanding of language is extremely literal. Alana completed special education and would like to live on her own. However, she currently lives in a very protected environment with her parents who are reluctant to support her independence. Alana is capable of carrying out personal activities of daily living, such as grooming, but she is unable to plan and carry out routines independently and safely. She has also not been required to engage in any type of vocational activity. Your goal as a rehabilitation specialist is to teach Alana the skills she needs to live independently.
Develop and detail a treatment plan, using an intervention or a combination of interventions, Alana to carry out daily routines without the assistance of her parents.
a) State the intervention(s) you are using. You must include at least 3 interventions.
b) Describe how you will use each intervention to help Alana.
