Describe how you will measure the success of your project

Problem

To wrap up, do a couple of things. Write your Indicators of Success. They describe how you'll measure the success of your project. They should contain numbers and dates. For example, hand out 30 brochures each week, or prepare a dinner each month at a new church for the first six months, or get 5 new customers each month.

Set a future time (6 months-3 years) by which you want 10 things to happen that will indicate that your users are satisfied. These are not ultimate goals but intermediate ones that show you are on the right track. One page is enough.

When Charlie began offering gardening workshops, he projected: a spring and fall workshop with 10 attendees, but by 3 years, 20 attendees, paying $80 for a full day, $50 for a half, giving him constructive feedback, telling at least 2 friends, his mailing list growing from 40 to 120 in a year, and then 300 in 3 years, and adding one workshop per year until he could do an entire weekend by the 4th year. Amazingly, it all happened-and then some! ( My project is on backyard gardening).
