Assignment task:
I have experience using SQL and Linux but not together. However I can say that with the user powered functionality and control that Linux offers pairing it with SQL sounds reasonable. Linux seems to be more useful when it comes managing core task such as file manipulation, user's permissions and other administration task.
With the cross-platform capabilities a users can easily switch and alter as they please with less overhauling. Companies can benefit from this as the less time it takes to switch between versions the less interruptions and risk are involved for them. Being able to create a better product with the use of the Linux OS this directly influences increases the Microsoft product as it will be used in tandem.
The downside is that more time and effort will have to be put into the maintenance of updating and fixing both versions as they require different adjustments. As well as having to keep the compatibility present throughout any changes in either software.
