Think about a culture of interest to you.
Q1. Describe five preconceptions or stereotypes you have about the culture. (You must do this about a culture that you do not belong to)
Q2. Conduct some research and find out how correct you are. Use books or articles written by experts on the culture. Or find a friend from that country or someone with a lot of experience working there and ask about the accuracy of your preconceptions and stereotypes.
Q3. Report your findings. For each preconception, describe causes and accuracy. Explain what this might mean about the way one develops impressions, holds preconceptions and thinks in stereotypes of other cultures.
Professional format, make use of headers for sections of your paper.
For example, provide a summary at the beginning. For each stereotype or preconception use a sub header. Within each section describe what your thoughts were, if you were correct or wrong and the research to back it up. Provide a summary at the end.
