a) A marine biologist hypothesized that global warming would reduce fish size due to insufficient oxygen supply for growth. Design a laboratory experiment to test the above hypothesis.
b) Barnacles are filter-feeding animals distributed from the middle to the lower part of the rocky shore. Two hypotheses have been proposed to explain their upper distribution limit on the shore. One hypothesis proposed that the feeding time at the higher shore is too short to provide enough food for survival. Another hypothesis proposed that barnacles at the higher shore are killed by heat stress during aerial exposure in summer. Describe experiments you would design to test these hypotheses.
