Describe Change Control for a Project
Project control implies the control over the baseline design of a product or service. The terms used to describe design control may be "configuration control" or "configuration management" or some similar term. This exercise will expose you to some of the methods for controlling the product changes.
Procedure
1.Choose a product or service that is in the process of being developed (namely, the product or service has a project context). You can choose something you are familiar with, or use the web to find one.
2. Describe the flow of change control-from change request to final approval or rejection--for the product or service you identified in Step
1. To aid understanding of the sequence of actions, describe the flow using a flow chart and narrative. Use simple symbols for the flow chart. Use paragraphs, lists, tables or some combination of those for the narrative. Also, understand and make clear the difference between major changes and minor changes.
