Problem:
Natural energy resources are not uniformly distributed on Earth and depend on an area's geologic history. In early human history, many civilizations were sustained by natural mineral and energy resources concentrated by mantle convection. Mantle convection (and plate tectonics) brings minerals to the surface (exposing them for mining), buries organic material that later become fossil fuel, and concentrates minerals in ore deposits or veins. Without mantle convection, many natural resources would be unavailable. Describe another way Earth would differ without mantle convection/plate tectonics.
