Describe and analyze Ann Hamiltons exhibit The common SENSE. Remember, you are writing this for a magazine with an international circulation, your role is to convey the sense of the exhibit to your readers, explain why it is significant, and expand the reader’s view of contemporary art. Focus on 3 important issues: Space, Time, and, most importantly, the Viewers experience. Questions to consider: How did the exhibition change the exhibition space? What are the different ways the visitors are invited to use the space, interact with the art? How is this different from traditional ways of interacting with the artwork? In what ways time is the subject or the material in the artwork? What roles do the notions of public/private play in this work?
You may refer to additional artwork examples by Ann Hamilton or other artists in this module, but be sure to describe each succinctly, and make the connection to your point very tight. Use vocabulary words.
Note: Avoid consulting websites, Wikipedia, and existing art reviews. Using ideas and wording from these will count as plagiarism. Instead, rely on what you have observed in the Gallery and learned so far in the class, and make connections. Use your own words.
