Problem
The goal of this assignment is for you to explore a mental health disorders described in our text. You will write a broad, ?rst-person article and address both the causes and behaviors that are common in this mental health disorder. You should describe no fewer than two top-level causes and two top-level behaviors. You will be graded on both the development of the background information, and the organization of your ideas in terms of both precision and depth.
Consider the following scenario.
You are a teacher in a kindergarten classroom. During the ?rst few weeks of class, you notice one of your students struggling. You can choose any variety of challenges from reactive attachment disorders, behavioral disorders, anxiety disorders, or a mood disorder. Select one of the disorders that you may know the least about, and apply the below prompts in evaluating the disorder.
What You Need to Do:
Construct a ?rst-person paper that includes the following:
A. Describe a possible mental health disorder and explain the child's possible behavior in the classroom; use content and at least one additional, reputable resource;
B. Describe how you feel about having this student in your classroom, be honest about the challenges and how you would need to prepare in order to remain caring and professional;
C. Discussion of three logical strategies of inclusion described that would be appropriate to implement given what you believe the child's mental health disorder is;
D. Specific ways you would support the child's caregiver; and
E. Discuss two advantages and two challenges of including this child in your classroom; and how you will share the advantages or mitigate the challenges with other children or families.
