Depth and Currents
The sea is very deep varying in different regions. Generally life extends to all depths but is confined more to the continental shelf and islands.
The sea is in continuous circulation by means of currents. These may be either, wind driven surface currents of deeper currents, resulting from variations in temperature and salinity.
The sea is dominated by several kinds of waves and tides, which are produced by the pull of moon and sun.
