Introduction:
Hopital Universitaire de Mirebalais (HUM) was built with a combined investment of more than USD$23 million after the 2010 earthquake destroyed Haiti's health and education infrastructure including Hospital of the National University of Haiti in Port au Prince. The 205, 000 square foot, 300 beds HUM offers decentralized high quality primary healthcare services to approximately 185,000 residents in Mirebalais and nearby communities Savanette and Saut-d'Eau, where access to healthcare is poor.It also provides secondary care to 415, 000 Haitians from Central Plateau, lower-Artibonite and upper-Ouest.
