The implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was significantly shaped by popular sentiment toward healthcare reform. Prior to its implementation, extensive public discourse and opinion surveys indicated that a majority of Americans favored some variant of healthcare reform. This public endorsement stimulated political action and eventually resulted in the ACA's implementation, despite significant opposition.
