Assignment task: This writing assignment will be based on your virtual visit to either a museum or gallery. You will find an art work that strikes you enough to do further research on that piece and you will compare and contrast it from piece in the museum. You must attach an image of the works you are discussing - copy and paste into your paper and make sure that the image is not too pixelated (sometimes copying to your desktop first helps:). You may use materials from the museum as one of the two resources you will need to cite to support your paper. Online research/databases can be used as resources. The imagery that you need to attach as a reference should be on the fourth page of the paper (copy an paste a jpeg, the best quality you can within reason- don't crash your computer with a huge file or attach something so pixelated you can't tell what it is).
Objectives:
- Ability to compare and contrast artworks, identify the artists, the titles of the work and when they were made
- Identify themes/style of the works, their design principles and how the work was made
- Demonstrate ability to clearly communicate ideas and critical thinking
In a nutshell comparing and contrasting two works of art from a museum or gallery, use at least two sources for research and attach images of the works within the paper
