Dr. Lydia plans to test her students heavily with at least one high-stakes multiple-choice assessment per week. After this conversation with Dr. Lydia, you decide to make a presentation to all the new instructors at the next faculty meeting about learning principles.

In a PowerPoint presentation, differentiate between learning principles to ensure valid and reliable assessment of learning. Include the following topics:

o The definitions of valid assessment and reliable assessment and why both are important in learning and its measurement.

o Externally motivating factors for participation, such as rewards and consequences. Can these be helpful or harmful to learning?
