Preventable Injuries, accidents, and childhood issues
Nurses are responsible for teaching individuals, families, and the community. Teaching aide to educate the parents (and/or child if age appropriate) on prevention measures to prevent a preventable injury, accident, or issue of your choice, such as drowning, motor vehicle accidents, childhood obesity, teenage suicide, etc. Identify the age and target audience. Research the topic and provide resources to the parents and/or child if appropriate.
i. Identify your chosen issue and your target audience.
ii. Define the potential causes of the injury or issue.
iii. Describe the negative impact it has on the patient and the patient's family.
iv. Educate on measures one can undertake to prevent these injuries or issue.
v. Explain how you would engage your audience.
vi. Provide resources the family (and/or child if age appropriate) can utilize for more guidance and assistance.
