Define Sample Preparation for Haemoglobin Content in Blood
- Wipe the index finger or middle finger with a cotton swab soaked in spirit.
- Prick the finger with a lancet opersting device after a gentle massage of the finger.
- Discard the first drop and with the help of a haemoglobin pipette take 20pl blood for analysis.
- Add the 20 pl of blood to 5.0 ml of the Drabkin's reagent in the test tube marked Sa. Mix. Let it stand for at least 4 minutes and read against a reagent blank at 540 nm.
