Assignment description:
In this assignment you will create a Personal Ethical Declaration of Practice. In a 2 page essay, describe your approach to the fire services profession at this time. Include how ideas, morals, values, experiences and previous knowledge and beliefs that inform how you view the profession. Create a declaration similar to a charter of rights of how you will practice as a professional identifying your strengths and areas for growth. Lastly state your commitment to continuous learning identifying areas of gaps for you personally and provide tangible ways to address them.
This assignment meets the following learning outcomes:
1. Build a professional identity through introspection of current issues in professionalism and ethics in Fire and Emergency Services
2. Explore one's own professional self in relation those of the profession and develop an action plan for continued professional and personal growth.
3. Explain how one's own social location, values, professional conduct, and ethics reflect the profession of Fire and Emergency Services.
4. Define and understand one's own social location and develop a professional mission statement to govern one's life moving forward
