Students are required to use the following when creating and submitting their project.
1. Define, explain and apply the biopsychosocial perspective
2. Develop a realistic package of activities/strategies and justify why they were chosen
3. Create a guide to demonstrate how realistic/practical your plan is
Activity - Managing personal stress from a biopsychosocial perspective
Students are required to write a 1000 word [maximum] assignment on effective strategies that they do or will employ in the future to manage the everyday stresses in their lives
• From a biological perspective: in terms of nutrition, exercise, etc
• From a psychological perspective: in terms of appraisal and coping strategies
• From a social-environmental perspective: in terms of work, family and managing personal relationships
The assignment should include the following:
• Theory - in terms of what the literature indicates are the types of stresses and the most appropriate management strategies
• The practical strategies that you intend to adopt [that is, a realistic balance rather than all possible strategies]
• A rationale for choices of strategies and empirical evidence supporting its effectiveness
• Finally, a tip sheet with suggestions/recommendations to implement these strategies
• Needs to be referenced
