Infertility can be caused by endocrine disorders, long-term sequelae of sexually, transmitted infections, puerperal sepsis, post-abortion sepsis and congenital malformations. In several societies, the social and psychological consequences of infertility are severe. Hence the Infertility is a component of many population- based studies of gynaecological morbidity.
