Define different types of properties:
Sol: For defining any system certain parameters are needed. Properties are the observable characteristics of system, which can be employed for defining it. For e.g. pressure, temp, volume.
Properties are further divided into three parts
Intensive Properties
Intensive properties are those, which are having same value for any part of system or properties which are independent of mass of system. For example pressure, temp.
Extensive Properties
Extensive properties are those that are dependent upon the mass of the system and do not maintain the same value for any part of system. For example mass, energy, volume, entropy.
Specific Properties
The extensive properties which when estimated on the unit mass basis result in intensive property, which is also called as specific property. For example- specific Heat, specific Volume, specific Enthalpy.
