- How and why did it come to be written?
- How much opposition was there to such a document and to such a radical idea as “independence?”
- How does the story of the Maryland delegation’s actions destroy some of the myths/legends that surround the popular image of the American Colonies becoming their own nation?
- And … keeping the same “hypothetical person” from the previous journal, (rope maker, merchant, & etc.) … discuss just how your daily life would have changed now that “America” was independent! Be thoughtful!!!!
