Critique jis networks in southeast asia

Assignment Task:

Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) has had a wide-ranging capability to organise and manage a number of unidentified networks of "sleeper cells", logistically and operationally within the region. Jemaah Islamiyah, sometimes known as the "Al-Qaeda of Southeast Asia", established various cells operating in countries across the region, cooperating and making allies with like-minded organisations in their respective country, forming a regional terrorist network. In the weeks after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the full extent of the pan-Asian terrorist network with extensive links to Al Qaeda was uncovered. The Jemaah Islamiyah was discovered to have cells in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, as well as in Australia and Pakistan. Since the Bali bombing in 2002, which the JI is suspected of carrying out, crackdowns by various governments in the region are believed to have severely weakened that organisation.
