Problem: Critically evaluate your own cognitive biases in relation to how they many have shaped your personal perspectives on topics that have been recently covered in the news. In doing so, address the following:
- In what specific ways do you think your consumption and understanding of the news is influenced by confirmation bias? What beliefs/attitudes/perspectives do you think "you bring with you" when consuming the news, and how might they be affecting how you go about selecting what news to consume and how you interpret the news you consume?
- Can you describe any specific examples of how you may have experienced any of the biases described in class (and listed above) when consuming information about topics recently covered in the news? In doing so, specifically describe the bias and how your perspective on the topic may have been influenced by you experiencing that bias.
