Creating a Resource for Teaching Reading
Students are expected to create a resource for teaching reading in a context of their choice. The resource should be written in PowerPoint, and should include the following key components:
Key Components.
All statements relating to the theory or outcomes must be referenced (including page where appropriate).
Description of the teaching and learning context.
Justification of the pedagogical approach used to teach reading.
Principles of lesson sequence design.
A choice of appropriate task and resources.
Identification of long- and short-term goals in relation to the national Australian Curriculum:
Literacy and/or another discipline area.
A teaching sequence with five teachng plans that integrate all aspets of pedagogy explained above.
