Assignment task:
The Government Accountability Office, in March of 2022, published a memo highlighting several recommendations in order to improve upon CISA's mission that some see as being irrelevant, and at worst, useless. These recommendations include, but are not limited to, improving its process for identifying critical infrastructure priorities to better reflect current threats, seeking input from states that have failed to provide critical information, and improving efforts to coordinate Cybersecurity services (GAO, 2022). In fact, the study itself was conducted due to the fact that, "the majority of critical infrastructure is owned and operated by the private sector, making it vital that the federal government work with the private sector, along with state, local, tribal, and territorial partners" (e.g.). What should be noted is that furthering public and private partnerships is not a new problem, and that risks such as resource allocation, objectives, culture, and image/brand, do exist, and should be addressed in order to increase transparency, and enhance trust.
