Assignment:
For this assignment, you will use PowerPoint to create a brief, 10-slide presentation. Your presentation will be about one of the following topics:
- A recent project that you have completed at work, school, or home
- How to prepare your favorite three-dish meal
- An explanation of the main parts of a laptop computer
In preparing your presentation, follow these guidelines:
Step 1: The first slide will be a title slide using the Title Slide Layout.
- This is usually the first slide that automatically appears when you open a PowerPoint file.
- The remainder of the slides will use the Title Only Layout.
Step 2: Open the Home Tab, Click New Slide, and select Title Only.
- Change the font and font size of the Title Only slides using the Slide Master.
Step 3: Open the View Tab, click Slide Master, and select Title Only template.
- Click to edit the Master Title style, and change the font to Century Schoolbook, 24 point.
Step 4: On the Slide Master Tab, click Close Master View to return to the presentation.
- Write an introductory slide using no more than seven lines of text that explains the intent, theme, and purpose for your presentation. Any screen text in your presentation should be in Century Schoolbook font, and it should not be smaller than 24 point.
Step 5: Include original color graphics in your presentation. At a minimum, use the circle tool, the square tool, and the arrow tool to create meaningful objects and pointers, such as a project calendar page, a dish, a table, the keyboard part of a laptop computer or a pointer, and a label for an item. Graphics and colors should be appropriate to a business presentation.
Step 6: Include a fade-in transition in your presentation for no more than two slides.
Step 7: Include at least two examples of Clip Art (graphics or photography) in your presentation. You should try to include a JPEG photograph taken with your phone camera or with the camera in your computer.
Step 8: Include a screenshot in your presentation. It should contribute to your theme and purpose.
Step 9: Be sure to incorporate a narrative or explanation for each slide using the Notes text field below the slide. If you have used copyright material (e.g., text or graphics), be sure to include the relevant source in the Notes area for the slide. (For most academic purposes, PowerPoint Clip Art does not need to be cited.)
Step 10: Save this completed PowerPoint presentation file as (your last name_your first name) U3_IP.pptx in your COMP102 subfolder (e.g., Doe_John_U3_IP.pptx
