Create call-to-action poster and a client presentation

Assignment Task:

Client 2: Senior Dog Sanctuary

Five years ago, a nonprofit senior dog sanctuary opened on the outskirts of a small town. The mission of this sanctuary is to provide a safe haven for senior dogs. The sanctuary has a strong social media following, but it is not well known within the local community. To increase the local visibility of this organization, the client needs a poster that will be distributed throughout the community

Directions:

For your chosen client, you are required to create two deliverables, a call-to-action poster and a client presentation.

Part 1: Call-to-Action Poster: Using Adobe Illustrator, create an 11" x 17" poster that conveys the message described by your chosen client. Refer to the design brief from your chosen client, located in the Supporting Materials section below, to inform your design. Make sure to use all the copy included in the design brief as well as at least one image or graphic from the Image and Graphic Bank resource, also linked below. These components should be displayed in a way that clearly communicates the call-to-action message.

Use instructor feedback on your Module Five Project Milestone to make necessary improvements to this section.

Specifically, include the following criteria:

1. Apply the principle of emphasis to convey a clear call-to-action message. You must include all the copy from the relevant design brief document.

2. Implement the principle of hierarchy in the design.

3. Select typography that conveys the appropriate call-to-action message.

4. Choose a color palette that supports the call-to-action message.

5. Include design and visual elements in your poster.

a. You must incorporate the elements of line, shape, and space.

b. You must include at least one image or graphic from the Image and Graphic Bank resource. Consider using Photoshop if you wish to edit your image or graphic,

6. Apply typography that is readable and legible.

7. Apply the principle of alignment for readability.

8. Create a balanced poster design.

Part 2: Client Presentation:  PowerPoint presentation with speaker notes.

Specifically, address the following criteria:

9. Explain the reasoning behind the organization of content.

o How did your organization of poster components create a coherent whole?

o Why did you place the copy, elements of design, and images where you did?

10. Explain the reasons for your choice of design and visual elements.

o How did you utilize line and shape?

o How did you use positive and negative space?

o Why did you choose each image or graphic?

11. Explain how principles of design have been applied to convey the message of your poster.

12. Explain how principles and elements of design have been applied for readability.

13. Justify your choice of typography and how it communicates the call to action.

14. Justify your choice of colors strong>and how it communicates the call to action.

15. Use design terminology throughout your presentation to justify your design decisions.

Note 1: When you want to create multiple versions of a design file or make significant changes to a design file, the best practice is to work on "copies" of the original file and not modify the original file itself. Use the "Save As Copy" option to create copies of the original file.

Note 2: This project is a great artifact to include in your portfolio. Once you receive instructor feedback, take time to revise your assignment. As a best practice, save the finalized copy as a RAW file in your OneDrive account so you are able to make edits in the future.
