You are an information technology (IT) intern working for the Defense Logistics Information Service (DLIS) in Battle Creek, Michigan. DLIS is an organization within the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), which is the largest logistics combat support agency for the Department of Defense. DLIS creates, manages, and disseminates logistics information to military and government customers using the latest technology.

Senior management at DLIS decided that the existing risk management plan for the organization is out of date, and that a new risk management plan must be developed. Because of the importance of risk management to the organization, senior management is committed to and supportive of the project to develop a new plan. You have been assigned to develop this new plan.

I. Task I: Draft Risk Management Plan

For the first part of the assigned project, you must create an initial draft of the final risk management plan. To do so, you must:

i. Develop an introduction to the plan explaining its purpose and importance.

ii. Create an outline for the completed risk management plan.

iii. Define the scope and boundaries of the plan.

iv. Research and summarize compliance laws and regulations that pertain to the organization.

v. Identify the key roles and responsibilities of individuals and departments within the organization as they pertain to risk management.

vi. Develop a proposed schedule for the risk management planning process.

vii. make a professional report detailing the information above as an initial draft of the risk management plan.

Write an initial draft of the risk management plan as detailed in the instructions above.

II. Task 2: Risk Assessment Plan

After creating an initial draft of the risk management plan, the second part of the assigned project requires you to create an initial draft of the final RA plan. To do so, you must:

i. Develop an introduction to the plan explaining its purpose and importance.

ii. Create an outline for the completed RA plan.

iii. Define the scope and boundaries for the plan.

iv. Research and summarize RA approaches.

v. Identify the key roles and responsibilities of individuals and departments within the organization as they pertain to RA.

vi. Develop a proposed schedule for the RA process.

vii. Create a professional report detailing the information above as an initial draft of the RA plan.
