Assignment
Create an Infographic using Adobe Photoshop.
Consider the content or message you want to communicate with your infographic, and find relevant data from reliable sources that must be cited. If you are uncertain about your topic please discuss it with me before you start the project. A good example of an easily researched topic with plenty of data is a future job or career that is of interest to you or related to your studies (example: an infographic that visualizes data about the career path of a university professor).

You will present your final project to the class for critique and peer review.
You will be graded on the following components:
Content: accurate and detailed information is provided and supports the thesis/argument/purpose
Focus: All content (visual and textual) concisely complements the purpose of the infographic
Visual Appeal: Fonts, colours, layouts, & visual elements meaningfully contribute to the infographic's ability to convey the overall message
Argument: The infographic effectively informs and convinces the reader of its intended purpose
Organization: Information is systematically organized and supports readers' comprehension of the main message
Citation: Full bibliographic citations are included for all sources referenced
Mechanics: The infographic is free of spelling or grammatical errors
Research your content and draw a rough sketch of the infographic. Consider developing a concept map or a flow diagram, and think about the type of infographic that will best convey your information: timeline, comparison, data representation, or a combination of different approaches.
Identify ways to convert text to images. Keep things visually simple - only 2 or 3 fonts, types, and sizes.
Proofread and refine. Work with friends and classmates to double check the accuracy of your data and make sure there are no grammatical or typographical errors. Be sure to cite all sources.
There are many tools and resources online for creating infographic components. Check out a site such as piktochart website to get some ideas. I will list additional resources below.
