Annotated Bibliography: Documenting Published Accounts of Your Research Problem
What to do
Summary: Provide an annotated bibliography of sources you are using to research your problem (topic). Submit the documents as a PDF and bring a hard copy to class.
Task:
Create an annotated bibliography which includes two published sources relevant to your research problem (start a new document for each source). Collaborate with your team members to identify unique sources.
In your annotations,
? briefly summarize each source.
o If you had to describe this source to someone, what would you say? You will want to summarize each section (introduction, methods, analysis, etc.) of the article.
? briefly evaluate each source. For example,
o is it scholarly work? How do you know?
o what is the author's purpose?
o who is the author's intended audience?
? briefly reflect upon how each source applies to your own research.
o Include in your reflection a statement of how each source relates to the other two sources. For example,
? does it add to information not in the other sources?
? does it contradict one or both of the other sources?
