Problem: Create a poster of ageism. Ensure you cite where each source came from. Explain what kind of stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination is shown. Try to include Allport's 5 stages of prejudice with each article.
1. Antilocution: written or verbal propaganda often involving making derogatory comments about a target group.
2. Avoidance : keeping minority groups separate (physically and socially) from the dominant group in society.
3. Discrimination: excluding the minority group from civil rights, employment and access to certain forms of housing.
4. Physical attack: violence against people in a target group or their property.
5. Extermination: extreme violence against a whole group, up to and including genocide.
Write a very brief evaluation of each item outlining why you selected it and clearly identifying what kind of prejudice each item demonstrates and what the effects are/could be.
