Create a plan for integrating the disciplines into your life

Homework: Spiritual Growth Plan

Instructions

Complete the following parts for Spiritual Growth Plan 1. This homework must total 1,000 to 1,250 words and must follow current Turabian formatting.

Part I: Spiritual Discipline Practice

In Part I of this paper, you will create a growth plan. In this plan, you will describe how you will better incorporate 2 spiritual disciplines into your everyday life and routine. The first of the disciplines will be your choice, but it must be one of the disciplines found in Donald S. Whitney's Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life. For the second discipline, you will choose between Scripture intake and prayer.

In this section, you must create a plan for integrating these disciplines into your life so that you can build spiritual discipline into a habitual practice in your life as you pursue godliness.

Part II: Battling Temptations

In Part II of your paper, you must create a plan to fight the temptations that are common in your life. You wrote a spiritual assessment that outlined some of the common temptations in your life. In this section of the paper, you will address how you are going to combat these temptations. Some temptations are robust ones that regularly lead you astray, and others are temptations that you successfully fight against daily. In either case, create a plan to continue this battle (or start this battle). In order to accomplish this task, you must first define your temptation (e.g., lust, covetousness, pride, anger, gluttony of food or drink, envy, laziness, gossip). Next, identify the common causes that lead you into temptation. Finally, create a battle strategy regarding how you are going to engage in the pursuit of holiness.

Part III: Guarding against Blind Spots

In the last part of your paper, address the concept of building fences in your life against temptation. Perhaps you do not struggle with something now, but how will you prevent yourself from falling into sin in the future? What fences are you going to build into your life to protect you from falling into future temptation?
