Problem
In one paragraph, create/describe a scenario (based on your personal experience) reflecting an emotion-based event at work. Analyze what went well and/or what went wrong. Then offer advice on making the situation turn out positively (ultimately) for the main character and the organization-based on what you learned from this week's readings.
Design/describe a "mini-module" to help teach this important lesson on communication and emotion at work for effective leadership. You can design this as an executive coaching exercise for managers or as a personal development initiative you would like to focus on yourself. (Two single-spaced pages max.)
For a more specific structure to this assignment, see below:
A. In one paragraph, describe a scenario (based on your personal experience) reflecting an emotion-based event at work.
B. In a second paragraph analyze what went well and/or what went wrong and make recommendations so that the situation turns out positively (now and/or in the future). Both the main character and the organization need to benefit from your recommendations. Base your recommendations on what you learned from this week's readings.
C. Design/describe a training or development "mini-module" to help teach this important lesson on communication and emotion at work for effective leadership. Provide the following:
a. Primary objective - Your goal(s) or what you hope/expect will be the result of this training/development mini-module. Be specific. "As a result of this mini-module, the participants will be able to....."
b. Main points - Create a list of main points to discuss/emphasize. Break down each larger point into details that you want to communicate to your audience (for training) or yourself (for development).
c. Discussions and activities - Identify at least one discussion and/or activity you will pursue to reinforce main points in the training/development mini-module. Make sure your activities are logical and appropriate for your goals and participant(s). Include enough description/details that someone else reading this proposal could implement your plan.
