Craninal nerves:

  1. Cranial nerves take their origin from different areas of brain 
  2. Some of them are sensory, some are motor and a few are mixed nerves.
  3. There are 12 pairs of cranial nerves.
  4. The branches of these nerves go to retina, ear, nose, tongue, muscles, face, neck and pharynx.
  5. Vagus is the 10th cranial nerve which controls the heart beat and secretions of pancreas.
