Part I
Write a Memo: A memo to request information about "Doing Business in the Country of Your Choice"
You have been hired as a global sourcing anaylyst for a major t-shirt manufacturer. Your first assignment is to obtain information about general business conditions in one of the following countries: Paraguay, Uraguay, Bolivia, or Brazil. The general business conditions that you are most concerned with are those that impact subcontractor-sorts of relationships. Pick one of these countries, locate a contact online (address and all) and write a memo requesting information from the contact. (Some things to consider might be business license requirements, foreign partner taxes and fees, locating a subcontracter company in their country. Add more that you think might be important!) Your memo should be professionally formatted and free from grammar errors.
Part II
Craft an Email: Progress Update to your Supervisor
Craft a professional email to your supervisor that discusses your progress made so far on requesting information about the country you would select for subcontracting a business (Paraguay, Uraguay, Bolivia, or Brazil). Be sure to use the appropriate format for a professional email.
Part III
Prepare a Persuasive Message: Memo to Propose Your Country of Choice for Site Selection
Conduct basic research on your country of choice. Write a 1-2 page memo to the Site Selection team that persuades them to locate in the country that you selected.
Part IV
Write an Informative Report Memo: Working with Employees from Other Countries or Cultures
Write a brief (estimated 2-3 pages) report that explains the basic business communication tips for working in the Country of your Choice. Be sure to format it professionally using headers and stylistic devices, as appropriate.
